Muita coisa aconteceu nesse tempo todo. E lá se
vão 2 anos.
Vou responder algumas coisas por aqui antes do
próximo post onde vou contar um pouco dos altos e baixos que rolaram durante
este 1 ano longe do blog.
Bom, aí estão algumas respostas às perguntas que
eu tenho certeza que muitos têm vontade de fazer:
1. Não,
você não vai estar super fluente na língua inglesa mesmo morando 2 anos fora
num país onde a primeira língua é o inglês.
2. Sim,
você vai continuar falando inglês com sotaque. Você não vai estar falando como
um nativo em dois anos morando num país de língua inglesa.
3. Não,
não estamos de férias. Só porque a maioria das fotos que você vai ver dos seus
amigos ou parentes que moram foram são de lugares maravilhosos, não significa
que estamos de férias.
4. Sim,
trabalhamos tanto quanto trabalharíamos se estivessemos nos nossos países.
Talvez até mais. Acho que mais.
5. Não,
não existe preconceito se você trabalha como garçon, pedreiro, motorista,
faxineiro, babá, caixa de supermercado. Inclusive são empregos super bem pagos.
6. Sim,
é fácil encontrar trabalho.
7. Não,
não é fácil encontrar trabalho na sua área de formação acadêmica.
8. Sim,
todo mundo que já tem pelo menos uns 4 meses de vivencia no exterior se
considera um expert quando o assunto
é visto e renovação de visto.
9. Não,
não é barato nem fácil como todos pensam renovar um visto. Menos ainda chegar à
Residência Permanente.
10.
Sim,
a Austrália tem um custo de vida bem alto. Mas é compensado com os bons
pagamentos nos trabalhos.
11.
Não,
cangurus não poderão ser vistos livremente nas ruas.
A lista é grande, e tenho certeza que as perguntas
também. Porém, só vivendo aqui pra poder entender melhor. Mas enquanto eu
puder, eu vou contando as histórias.

So many things have happened since I first arrived
here in Australia.
In this post I am going to answer to some
questions before telling, in the next post, about the ups and downs that
happened since the last time I posted in the blog.
Well, there we go with some answers to the
questions that I am sure that many people feel like asking:
1.
No,
you are not going to be fluent in English even though you are living 2 years in
a country, which the first language is English.
2.
Yes,
you will remain with your accent while speaking English. You are not going to
be speaking like a native after living 2 years in the country.
3.
No,
we are not on holidays. Only because the majority of pictures that you see from
your friends of relatives who are living abroad are from stunning places, it
doesn’t mean that we are all on holidays.
4.
Yes,
we do work as hard as we would be working whether we were in our homecountries.
Maybe more. I think that way more.
5.
No,
there’s no discrimination if you’re working as waiter, labour, driver, cleaner,
babysitter, teller in the supermarket. Actually, those are all well paid jobs.
6.
Yes,
it’s easy indeed to find a job here.
7.
No,
it’s not easy to find a job in your field of qualification from Uni.
8.
Yes,
everybody who’s been living abroad for at least 4 months thinks that they are
expert when it comes to visas and extending visas.
9.
No,
it’s neither cheap nor easy as everybody thinks when you are planning to extend
you visa. It’s even more expensive and harder to become a Permanent Resident.
10.
Yes,
Australia has a really high living cost. However, it is compensate for the well-paid
jobs.
11.
No,
you won’t be able to see kanguroos jumping freely on the streets.
The list it’s bigger than that, but I’m sure that
the questions are too. However, only by living here to understand better what
it is. But as long as I can, I will be keeping telling my stories here.
